A Look at Argen

Argen is the largest dental gold producer in the world and the largest in the USA.

MANUFACTURING

Argen's manufacturing facility is unparalleled for production of dental alloys. From weighting tolerances of hundredths of a gram to microscopic analysis confirming homogeneous alloys, attention to detail permeates the entire process. Using advanced vacuum metallurgy techniques and continuous casting fabrication methods, alloys of uncompromising quality are produced.

RAW MATERIALS

Using the purest raw materials, such as .9999 fine gold, is only the start at Argen. For dental alloys, which are medical devices, there are other safety concerns such as radio-activity and the nature of the impure elements. All incoming materials are evaluated to ensure they meet Argen's stringent specifications.

RESEARCH

Alloy development is an ongoing process at Argen. There are multiple projects in progress at any one time.

Today's demands of esthetics, functionality and economy require sophisticated development techniques such as computer modeling. Computer programs, developed especially for dental alloy systems, vary theoretical compositions searching for the optimum combination for each application. Thousands of possible alloy compositions can be evaluated before the best one is determined. The alloy then undergoes functional evaluation in our dental laboratory followed by extensive field testing. The alloy you receive has been thoroughly tested and retested to assure the highest quality material.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Argen's quality system complies with the Good Manufacturing Practices of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, ISO 13485, and the European Medical Device Directive (93/42/EEC).

Tests are performed in accordance with ISO harmonized standards. Where applicable, individual alloys are further certified to meet NIOM, ADA or DIN standards.

What does all this mean to you? Third party certification of our Quality System via ISO 13485 means that our entire operation including research, purchasing raw materials, manufacturing, technical and customer services, has been independently audited to meet international standards. The CE mark further confirms that the materials have been determined to be safe and effective for their intended purpose.

TECHNICAL SERVICE

With over two hundred and fifty alloys sold to over forty countries worldwide, Argen's technical service department is experienced in assisting with any technical questions which may arise.

Expert technical service is available in over one hundred and forty languages and provided by certified dental technicians and metallurgists.

EDUCATION

Maintaining our position on the forefront of dental alloy technology requires a commitment to continuing education. We apply this not only to our staff, but extend our training facilities to our customers, offering seminars on lab management, research, trends and ceramic techniques.
